第七届汉语语言与话语国际研讨会

The ISCLD is a biennial international symposium that advances the exchange of scholarship and emphasizes an empirical orientation in functional discourse studies of the Chinese language, with participation from local and international scholars, not only from linguistics, but also related fields of communication, sociology, anthropology, education etc. with regards to the use of Chinese languages.

The 7th ISCLD returns to NTU (previously held in 2012) after more than a decade, with the theme “New Directions in Chinese Language Research: Structure and Use”. The conference continues to focus on Chinese language and discourse, but we also like to encourage researchers working on other areas previously not discussed in the past conferences, including minority languages related to Chinese, AI application, bi/multi-lingual and multicultural settings.

Hosting this international conference in 2024 at NTU holds special significance, as it coincides with the 20th anniversary celebration of the NTU Chinese programme. The organization of this conference is structured as part of our celebration of NTU as a leading institution for Chinese language research in the global arena.

汉语语言与话语国际研讨会是两年一度的国际研讨会，旨在促进学术交流，强调汉语功能话语研究的实证取向，吸引来自语言学，以及传播学、社会学、人类学、教育学等相关领域的国内外学者前来参与。时隔十几年后，次研讨会再度由南洋理工大学举办（上一次主办为2012年），主题为“汉语研究的新方向：结构与运用”。研讨会将继续关注汉语和话语的运用，但主办方希望能鼓励其他进行会议中未讨论领域的学者，包括与汉语相关的少数民族语言、人工智能应用、双语/多语和多元文化环境的研究。因恰逢南洋理工大学中文系成立20周年，研讨会为此具有特殊意义，主办研讨会的重心之一将包括庆祝南洋理工大学作为全球华语主导性的研究机构。

The International Symposium on Chinese Language and Discourse (ISCLD) is a biennial international symposium that advances the exchange of scholarship and emphasizes an empirical orientation in functional discourse studies of the Chinese language.

The symposium of 7th ISCLD will be held between 6th to 8th August 2024 at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

The theme of this symposium is New Directions in Chinese Language Research: Structure and use.

Guidelines for Submissions

Abstracts or panel proposals may be accepted.

• Abstracts in English should be 300-500 words, including positions, affiliations, email addresses and mailing addresses for all authors.

• Panel proposals reflecting the conference theme may be submitted. All panel proposals should provide a 300-word rationale and a 100-200 word abstract of each panelist's paper; include affiliation and email addresses for each panel list.

第七届汉语语言与话语国际研讨会将于2024年8月5-7日在新加坡南洋理工大学举行。

本次研讨会的主题是：汉语研究的新方向：结构与运用

Procedure for Submission of Paper/Panel Paper Proposals: 

A 300-500 word abstract with a title not exceeding 15 words should be sent no later than 31 January 2024. Do note that abstracts exceeding the word limit will not be accepted.  

For proposers who have co-speaker(s) or other panel members, kindly ensure that the email addresses of the co-speaker or panel members are currently in use. They must accept the email notification sent to them before the proposal(s) can be reviewed and accepted.  

提交论文/小组论文提案的程序： 

300-500字的摘要，标题不超过15字，应在2024年1月31日之前提交。超过字数限制的摘要将不被接受。 

对于有共同发言人或其他小组成员的提议者，请确保共同发言人或小组成员的电子邮件当前正在使用中。他们必须接受发送给他们的电子邮件通知，其提案才会被接受并审核。 

Criteria for Acceptance of Abstracts: 

All abstracts will be evaluated by the Conference Committee, with an emphasis on originality and relevance of the conference theme and topics. The Committee reserves the right to decline proposals without providing reason.

所有摘要将由会议委员会进行评估，其主要考虑的标准包括会议主题的原创性与相关性。委员会将保留拒绝提案的权利，恕不另行说明理由。
